12 Fully Funded PhD Studentships in Heritage Studies

The Heritage Consortium, led by the University of Hull, invites high-quality proposals from applicants for up to 12 AHRC-funded PhD studentships tenable for three years from 1 October 2015. The Consortium comprises Bradford, Huddersfield, Hull, Leeds Beckett, Northumbria, Sheffield Hallam and Teesside Universities. Applicants apply to the Consortium, with successful candidates admitted to the university with the most appropriate supervision, whilst enjoying access to facilities and research support at the other Consortium members and the Consortium’s network of Heritage organisations.

Applicants, who should hold at least a good undergraduate, and preferably a Master’s qualification (or be completing their programme) and/or relevant professional experience, may propose research in any area of the Consortium’s Heritage expertise. We would, however, particularly welcome proposals which correspond with the Consortium’s research concentration in the areas of:

  • Archaeology of Human Remains
  • Archives
  • Cultural History
  • Cultural Geography
  • Cultural Studies and Popular Culture
  • Economic and Social History
  • Heritage Management
  • Museum and Gallery Studies
