Observatory FAQ

What is NET-HERITAGE?

NET-HERITAGE is the name of a European project. Full details of the project can be found on the project website at: http://www.netheritage.eu.

Who can use the NET-HERITAGE website?

Anyone can use the public areas of the website. You can also use the 'Social Tools' section to register and create a profile on the site. This profile allows you to contribute content, to connect with other users and to curate your own reference library of published resources.

What is the 'Observatory'?

The Observatory is a database of published, grey and other literature about the various themes of the NET-HERITAGE programme. This database is populated by professionals in the industry. It provides 3 'levels' of information:

  • Basic bibliographic references
  • Bibliographic references linked to files
  • Full documents available for download

Do you own Copyright?

NET-HERITAGE only owns the Copyright in the resources that have been commissioned specifically for or by the project. All other resources are copyright to their creator or owner.

Users are asked, when contributing content to the Observatory, to confirm that they either are the rightsholder or have obtained the necessary permissions from the rightsholder.

I found a broken link/mistake, what should I do?

The NET-HERITAGE Observatory is constantly evolving, and it depends on users like you to keep the content up to date and accurate. If you come across anything that is inaccurate, out of date or simply wrong, please email us.
