Conference: Europe and Cultural Heritage: A Challenge

Conference: Europe and Cultural Heritage: A Challenge

Towards a European Cultural Heritage Strategy

9 december 2010
Bruges – Site Oud Sint-Jan

Moveable and immoveable heritage, such as museological collections, archives, built heritage, landscapes, archaeology, traditions and customs …, often experiences the influence of a wide range of European legislation. The challenge at hand is to gear that legislation to the specific needs of cultural heritage.

This conference aims to enhance support amongst European institutions for the sustainable management and conservation of cultural heritage. We want to put the subject higher on the political agenda and are looking for long-term solutions.

This conference takes place within the framework of the Belgian EU Presidency.
